another post!

Helllllooo Blog world.

I’m exhausted; I am tired; I need to sleep.

The concert is only in a matter of days and I hope that everything gets pulled off. Ticket sales are slow - but if I was a student, why buy tickets early? Buy a few days before... Or so I am hoping...

In the end, I am sure that it will be great, however, I need it to be GREAT!

Things on campus keep getting more and more heated. There is constant anti-Israel graffiti, today our organization made it on the wall to- we have been labeled as a racist organization. Right. So far from the truth. There is a very large rally on Thursday - I am not going to lie, I am concerned about the safety of my students. I really hope that its just words and not fists, but with the way that things are going, who knows... sigh...

On a brighter note, I am going to the ballet tomorrow, so that should be nice. Seeing the Sleeping beauty. So I am excited for that. :) I have not been to the ballet in many years, so I am really looking forward to that, it will be a nice evening. Finding parking though, is going to suck.

Other than that... I leave for Israel in 6 weeks... I'm excited. Now have to figure out how long I can extend for AND pull off going to Hymie and Chaya's wedding in Fl. I can do this. :)

All right people leave a message, amuse me. I NEED IT.

Thanks Ya'll for listening (or reading)

Dinner: not sure, still at work.

:(

That makes me sad.

Sooo stressed. So much work todo before this concert. Who knew that coordinating a 1100 people + event could be so crazy? ;) In the end it will be all worth it.

Leave me a message.

BTW: So I was at an event for Holocaust and Genocide awarness week, and the talk was on Genocide. One student that was there (that is a member of an organization that really doesnt like Israel or think that it should exist...) was complaining about a woman named Miriam Goldstein. She kept going on and on about this Miriam Goldstein on how she murdered Palestinians etc. Finally the speaker said, Who is Miriam Goldstein, I have never heard of her! The girl said: The Prime Minister of Israel. Silence. To which the crowed said "You mean Golda Meir." It was kinda funny, made me chuckle. They always complain that we get things wrong...

I needed to share that. For no other reason then it made me semi-amused.

leave me a message, I need it!

Leaves of many differnt colours.

Hello World.

Over the past few years, I have looked forward to walking along Rehov Katamon in Jerusalem during the fall. There are two trees that lose their leaves. When the leaves are on the ground, one can walk on them and make that crunch. Those that have experienced fall know what I am talking about. During that time, those few leaves made me laugh and miss the fall colours, now I am surrounded by those leaves and colours and all I want is to be inside a heated building.

The trees are changing, the leaves are falling, and it’s way too cold. Many things have gone on over the time since I last wrote. As you can see, I have been so busy that I cannot even sit down and write. Infact, I should be still doing work (its 11:30 pm) but I needed to take a break for a second and actually write something.

YACHAD: WE CARE TOGETHER EVENING

This is my big project right now. Along with some students we are putting together an amazing event. The evening will start off with a drummers circle, the student acapella groups, an address by the Consular General of Israel for Toronto, some Israel videos and then a full concert by the Idan Raichel Project. Yup, that’s right, the Idan Raichel project. This is going to be an amazing evening. With the rise of anti-Israel propaganda on campus and within the community we felt it was time to do something for the community to stand with Israel This is going to be an amazing event. If you are going to be around, the event is going to be November 18th, doors at 9. Tickets available at Hillel or at www.ticketmaster.ca Im excited. Its going to be a lot more work, but bring it on.

MY LIST

So there are a few things that I have to do while in Toronto. Some of these are stereotypical Canadian things and other are silly nikki things. A few examples

1) Sporting events. See as much sports as possible. Already been to a baseketball game (Toronto Raptors vs Macabbi Tel Aviv) and a Baseball game (Toronto vs. Yanks… I hate the Yankees….)
2) The tragically Hip. Those of you who know me, know that the Hip are one of my all time favourite bands. So I had to see them in Concert. I saw them last week. WOO HOO. I am going again in Feb.
3) Curling. Never been, I think it will be cool
4) CN Tower. I have not been up the tower in at least 8 years, I am ready to do it again.
5) Drive the length of Yonge street in Toronto. From the waterfront until it ends
6) Build a snowman

Those are just a few of the silly things. Ill get to them…slowly…

This winter with birthright

So I was not eligible to go on birthright as a participant, but CIE & Hillel feel that I am eligible to be a staff member. So next month I will be returning to Israel for birthright. My bus leaves Toronto on Dec 20th and the trip ends on the 31st. I am going to try to stay an extra week to see people, deal with the government and take a bit of a vacation (oh and sit and watch BSG with the crew… and maybe a BBQ… and maybe, well who knows, the point is, I will be going to Israel and I am really excited. I hope that you will come visit my bus (if you are in Israel) and say hello : )

MY AOL BUDDY LIST

My buddy list was deleted. All the names. Gone. Please IM me with your screen name. I need to rebuild the list (of 187 names…)

This weekend I am going on a Hillel retreat, that should be fun, however, I need the sleep! SLEEP! Oh well.

That’s it for now. I have to finish some work before I crawl into bed.

Night!

Be in touch!

Nikki

Ps. Rachel Dinner was steak. Mmmm.
