lobster girl reporting...
Hello there world.
So first off, I have to admit that I am not going to use spell check during this whole post - so really...deal with it :) I am on the computer at the community centre near where I am living (aka the middle of no-wheres-ville)
Things have been going well. I am totally exausted though. I am pretty much doing many different things since being here that really leaves me no time to volunteer- which is ironic, as this is a volunteer trip. I am currently working on, logistics, educational, leadership, madrica and any other duties that come my way. This afternoon, I am planning to sit down and coordinate the remainder of the trip (3 weeks - one day) so that will hopefully give me more time to actually volunteer.
Last week was insane. TOTALLY insane. Another group came so there was lots of work to do before they got here. I also took my group to the beach. We were really supposed to start volunteering, but a dead cat and an outbreak of bugs closed the building down so we had to plan other things. We went to the beach, where I burned liike a lobster. Ooops. We went to Palmachaim - a beautiful beach. That thursday night, I trecked into Jerusalem to see my friends Chana and Jackie off- they are moving back to the states. It was nice to see friends, however, there are no busses in to Rechovot early in the morning. That being said, I had to take a cab way to early in the morning for way to much money in roder to meet my group. This past weekend we went away - first to Sfat and then stayed on the kinneret for the weekend. IN Sfat I bumped into a few people and actually bought myself a present. Oooh, presents. We then checked into a WONDERFUL hotel that was right on the shores of the kinneret. It was great. We had a nice dinner together, and just spent time hanging out. I was actually in charge of the education for the weekend, so it really wasnt a vacation. I taught twice on Saturday and it seemed to go over well. I also spent a lot of time in the water which means I added to my current lobsterness. I would liek to say however, that now I am more of a brownish colour instead of flaming red WHOOHOOO!
This week my group finally started volunteering and they all seem to be really enjoying it, so that's good. They are getting a lot out of it and I am happy to see that. The community is really happy as well.
This weekend we have a free weekend, I am not sure exactly what I am going to do, but I am sure that in the end it will be with the boys and wherever they end up (which means, I will be either in Modiin or Jerusalem) or who knows, maybe I will stay in the exciting city of rechovot! Um.. yeah, NO.
Last night we went to go get dinner, me and the other staff from the other trip. it took us:
1 hour to get to town (the bus rarely comes)
1 hour to find a restaraunt that was kosher
We ended up at burgerranch (which is like mcdonalds) I still feel sick. I hate rechovot.
Otherwise things are good, I am really tired and need to take a nap.
Thats about the excitment that is my life right now. Please leave me a post :) It makes me smile.

Hiiii Nikki,
I think you're a good candidate for satellite internet. I'm sure it won't be long before we all have it.
I had my first daa-daa test today. Two hours. I was completely exhausted.
In a couple of weekends it's Parade Day. Am praying for clouds and twenty degree weather. It happened once...
Other than that... I hope he's marked the tests by tomorrow. But I doubt it.
